I’m sure you’ve heard it before, parents telling stories about all the silly and ridiculous things their kids do. I feel often times the most valued moments aren’t expressed. You know, the little things.
It’s like holding the world when you come home from work and your child(ren) light up and run to you as if you just walked in holding a mountain of their favorite snacks. You know, those moments. The ones that make mom life so much more enjoyable.
Or literally just thinking about the fact that YOU created life; life in the form of such perfection.
Maybe it’s how their eyes go big when you tell them stories about things they did when they were a baby. Possibly how they get a massive case of the giggles just from the tiniest thing like learning to blow bubbles. How dads are the best playmates and moms are the place of comfort.
Why aren’t we talking about these moments?
We spend so much time focusing on everything we don’t like, we often overlook the moments we love. Sure, teaching your kid common core math isn’t fun for anyone. But like, have you ever noticed your kids face when you tell them they can eat the brownie batter from the spoon? It’s priceless.. and these are the moments we need to be sharing all the time. The ladies over at https://blogs.brighthorizons.com/familyroom/finding-joy-in-the-little-things/ explain it in such easy and straightforward terms.
Stop dwelling. Go put on some rain boots and splash in the puddles. Make the memories, they’ll be with you for a lifetime.
Start talking about those little things. Start telling people about all the things you think they don’t want to hear. They need to hear it. We need to start replacing negative and hateful conversations with ones full of optimism and a lot of love.
Share your stories, no matter how big or small. I want to hear it. Reshape your thoughts, reshape your conversations, and reshape your environment. It will only lead to brighter and happier days ahead. So… spill the beans, what moments are you keeping for yourself? I’m challenging you to share them.
❤
