Hey you, glad to see I haven’t bored you too much yet. I’ve got this thing I want to tell you all about. It’s an app. I recently discovered it, and not going to lie…it’s pretty fantastic.
So, lately I’ve been working with my 4 year old to help her learn her ABC’s. She’s doing phenomenally. Within a month we’ve mastered identifying and writing each letter, as well as spelling her name!
Enough of the rambling, I’m sure you want to know what this app is called. Go to the app store and search for Duo ABC. The picture is of a little green frog looking owl critter with a b c in bright letters across the top.
This app allows children to practice identifying letters, writing them, and even putting short words together. It’s a huge hit in our house. Although my daughter learned her ABC’s prior to discovering the app, I think it’s definitely helped her to identify letters within words she sees on objects or labels.
Throughout the app your child will learn to spell their name. While learning the letters of their name they will need to show success in specific tasks before moving to the next. So one level will be identifying a specific letter, then the next will be writing that letter and so on.
It’s definetly an app worth checking out. They also have one called Duo lingo, which is for learning a new language. I tried them both at the same time, I strongly suggest the ABC app first…for obvious reasons that weren’t so obvious to me. LOL
If you’re ready to be asked a million times if you know what letter is on a sign, grab the app. If you’re ready to listen to your toddler sound out words awkwardly, grab the app. If you feel like you aren’t accomplishing enough or your child is stir crazy during quarantine, grab the app.
To make downloading EZ PZ I’ve brought the link directly to you. You’re only one click away from a smarty pants kid. 🙂 https://apps.apple.com/us/app/duolingo-abc-learn-to-read/id1440502568
