Do you remember how free and careless being a kid was? At the time you probably didn’t even notice, you were probably so busy just wanting to grow up.
Often times we as people either over exceed or completely fail at living in the moment.
While coming across this post I had an instant flood of the “feel goods”. So many things rushed through my mind.
Things like visiting my great grandma and indulging in a few too many of her amazing homemade cookies. Or the sweet smell of chlorine from the pool during the endless summer that is mentioned in the thread on Reddit.
Spending the entire day playing in mud puddles or digging up worms in hopes it would convince my dad that we should drop everything and go fishing. Being he was working third shift 6-7 days a week when he would agree to go was the greatest feeling EVER! Although if he dropped everything to take me fishing I might just cry in happiness.
That sense of joy when your mom tells you she made you a doctor appointment and she’ll pick you up early, but then you spend the rest of the day shopping.
I remember the days where I lived so freely, without a single worry. I could probably go on for days with this conversation if I’m being honest.
Sometimes we need to take a step back and just enjoy the moment, enjoy the little things life has to offer. What is it that brings you back? What are your greatest feel good memories? Do you still take part in them, or is it something you’ve grown out of doing often if at all? Go take a trip down memory lane, have some fun with it! 🙂
